Get to Know #ThePreachers: Pastor Orrick Quick

Published on

North Carolina native Elder Orrick Romaine Quick is a prolific teacher and preacher of the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is the Pastor and Founder of God Seekers Church, Church of God in Christ (COGIC), established in 2012 in High Point, North Carolina. He and his wife, First Lady Ashley T. Quick, are co-laborers in their ministry along with their daughters, Victoria Madison and Kennedy Brielle.

The son of a bishop and evangelist, Quick was raised with a reverent fear of the Lord, and his gifts and talents were fully nurtured. This was seen through his faithful service as a percussion musician, praise and worship team leader, and Sunday school superintendent at High Point’s Miracle Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, under the Leadership of his father, Bishop Alber Oliver Quick and his late mother, Rosetta Quick. Bishop Alber Oliver Quick later remarried Virginia Quick. He acknowledged his ministry call, was licensed in June 2006 and ordained as an Elder in May 2009.

Pastor Quick’s passion for outreach ministry within the city of High Point and the surrounding areas has enabled him to witness to numerous drug dealers, the homeless and individuals that have been incarcerated. Elder Quick wants to encourage people to believe in God no matter how bad it looks and teach others how to pursue their vision and their dreams, even in the midst of adversity.

Elder Quick’s life has been filled with multiple life-changing events. At 5 years of age, Elder Quick was hit by a car, nearly died and was resuscitated; due to multiple injuries, including a broken pelvis, he was forced to learn how to walk again. Six years later, Elder Quick was involved in another car-related event which left him temporarily blind, in the hospital for eight weeks and in a body cast for 13 weeks. Once more, he had to learn how to walk again. His miraculous recovery and victory over these life-threatening experiences not only deepened and strengthened his relationship with Christ, but allowed him to give a personal testimony to the wonders and works of God.

God has taught him that “Faith is refusing to be denied,” and we should not be so willing to give up on what God has promised us. He believes that “the keys to your success is your faith in Jesus Christ.”
